LED Panels & Projectors.

The right pixels for the room.

Direct-view LED, OLED, microLED and laser projection — selected to the room's lux, throw, sightline and content.

/ The discipline, in detail

How we approach led panels & projectors.

We work backwards from the content. A ballroom showing key-note slides at 1,200 lux ambient light is a different problem from a dark cinema running 4K HDR film. Each demands different brightness, gamma, contrast and gamut. We measure, model and specify accordingly — never one-size-fits-all.

On record

Every led panels & projectors engagement is documented end-to-end — design, programming, commissioning, calibration — and handed over with the files our successors would need if we were never to return.

/ Where we deploy this

Active across 4 sectors.

LED Panels & Projectors is rarely a standalone brief — it sits inside a wider sector practice with its own codes, expectations and operating rhythm.

/ Sister services

The rest of av.

A serious brief usually crosses two or three of these. Read across the discipline — we deliver them as one contract.

/ Where this system has been deployed

LED Panels & Projectors on the ground.

The reference projects below carry a led panels & projectors layer engineered as part of an integrated stack. Each case study walks through the engineering challenges that were solved, the standards the work was held to, and the operational outcome on the day-two team.

Public project summaries describe systems and outcomes only — BOQ values, quantities, device counts and security layouts are kept off public surfaces.

LED Panels & Projectors — getting the brief right.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Choosing between projection and LED before measuring ambient light — lux at the screen decides the technology.
  • Buying brightness by brochure number instead of calculating it against the actual screen size and viewing conditions.
  • Leaving throw distance and lens selection until the ceiling is closed and the projector can no longer land where it must.
  • Specifying one display for everything — slides at high ambient light and film in a dark room need different brightness, contrast and gamut.
  • No maintenance thinking — filter access, light-source life and panel serviceability decide the five-year story.

What to share before a quotation

  • The room dimensions and the screen or wall position under consideration.
  • Ambient light — measured, or described honestly — across the operating hours.
  • The content mix — presentations, film, live camera, signage.
  • Viewing distances for the nearest and farthest viewer.
  • Mounting, power and containment constraints at the position.

/ Frequently asked

LED Panels & Projectors — what buyers ask first.

Laser projector or LED wall for our auditorium?

Choose a 4K laser projector for auditoriums under 250 seats with controlled lighting; choose fine-pitch LED above 250 seats or where the wall stays lit. Under 250 seats a 4K laser projector with a BenQ screen is typically the right answer at roughly half the cost of LED.

When is a projector still the right choice over LED?

When the screen size needs to exceed about 150 inches diagonal, or when the budget for that size of LED is unjustifiable. A 4K laser projector with a BenQ screen at 200 inches still delivers a very competitive image at a fraction of the LED cost. The trade-off is ambient light tolerance — LED handles ambient light better.

Laser, lamp or hybrid projector?

Laser is the right answer for any new projector deployment in 2026. 20,000-hour light-source life versus 3,000–5,000 hours for lamp; better colour stability over time; instant on-off; quieter operation. The projector premium is now under 30% and falling; lamp projectors should be reserved for budget-constrained refresh of existing installations.

What's the right brightness for a given room?

Rule of thumb: ANSI lumens needed = screen area (sq ft) × ambient light condition (50 for dark cinema, 200 for boardroom with curtains, 500 for atrium with daylight). We model each room with the actual fenestration before specifying. Under-specifying brightness is the single most common projector-install mistake.

How do you handle motorised screen and projector lift integration?

Both are part of the same control system as the rest of the room. A single 'Film' scene drops the projector lift from the ceiling, lowers the screen, dims the lights, closes the drapery and powers the audio chain — over about 20 seconds, choreographed. Manual override is always available.

Can projection screens reject ambient light?

Ambient light rejecting (ALR) screens (BenQ StarGlas, Screen Innovations Black Diamond) reduce off-axis ambient pickup by 70–85%, which makes daylight viewing genuinely watchable. The trade-off is a narrower viewing cone and higher cost. We specify ALR for media rooms with daylight; matte-white for dedicated cinemas.

Which active-LED and display brands does TechnoGuru work with?

For fine-pitch and active-LED displays we work with families such as AERO, Samsung, Sony and LG, with BenQ and ViewSonic on the projector and panel side and Novastar handling LED processing and control. These references are for comparison and application guidance, not a statement of partnership. Final make and model are selected after the viewing distance, site dimensions, content type and mounting and service plan are reviewed.

How is the final make and model chosen between LED and projector?

The decision starts from the viewing distance and the room's ambient light: pixel pitch and brightness are matched to the closest viewer and the daylight the surface has to fight, then the content source and the service-access plan narrow the model. We model each room against its actual dimensions rather than a brochure size. Final selection stays subject to the site conditions, content type, mounting and service plan and availability.
