LG MAGNIT LSAB (P0.9) cabinet grid & viewing distance

Problem. A 4 x 2.25 m video wall in a controlled indoor space needs a cabinet grid that lands close to the target dimensions without odd part-cabinet edges. At 0.9375 mm pixel pitch, the sizing decision also has to keep the closest seat far enough back that individual pixels disappear into a clean image.

Answer. The 4 x 2.25 m target resolves to a 7 x 7 cabinet grid, giving an actual built wall of 4.2 x 2.36 m. Native resolution across that grid is 4480 x 2520, roughly 11.3 MP.

How this preset reads — the engineering view.

Pixel pitch on LG MAGNIT LSAB (P0.9) is 0.9375 mm, and this single number drives two outputs at once: the cabinet grid (7 x 7 cabinets to cover 4 x 2.25 m) and the optimal viewing band for video content, calculated as pitch x 1.0 to x 2.0, or roughly 0.9-1.9 m. Seats closer than that will resolve individual pixels; the default closest seat in this preset is set to 3 m, comfortably beyond the band.

600 nits suits a controlled indoor environment rather than a space with strong ambient daylight competing with the screen. The cabinet is wall-mount with front-service access, so maintenance does not require rear clearance behind the wall. Across the 7 x 7 grid the native resolution is 4480 x 2520 (~11.3 MP), which suits close-viewing video and broadcast-style content at fine-pitch clarity.

Drag the wall-size inputs to see the cabinet grid and native resolution recompute live. Because cabinets are fixed-size units, they snap to whole numbers — so the actual built wall (here, 4.2 x 2.36 m) may differ slightly from whatever target size is entered.

The calculator sizes the cabinet grid, resolution, and viewing band only. It does not size structural or rigging load, the power and data cable run to the wall, the video processor or scaler, how source content maps to the native resolution, or ambient-light calibration for the room — each of those needs a separate engineering check.

What this preset deliberately does not solve

  • Figures assume a flat wall built from whole LG MAGNIT LSAB (P0.9) cabinets; curved or non-planar mounts change the usable grid.
  • 600 nits is the panel's output rating, not a guarantee of legibility under every room lighting condition.
  • Viewing-distance band is a general pitch-based guide for video content, not a substitute for a room-specific sightline check.

How this preset differs from its siblings

Fine-pitch indoor LED spans a range of pitches and brightness ratings, and each combination changes both the cabinet count for a given wall and the safe closest-seat distance. LG MAGNIT LSAB (P0.9), at 0.9375 mm and 600 nits with front-service wall-mount, sits at a finer pitch and lower brightness than coarser-pitch or higher-brightness indoor products, which shifts its optimal viewing band closer and its resolution-per-square-metre higher. This preset exists so a search for this exact model's grid and viewing distance lands on numbers specific to it, not a generic fine-pitch average.
