What this lookup does, step by step
- Start from what is already there. Search the product records by the brand and model printed on a projector, loudspeaker or LED cabinet.
- Say what it is. The record resolves to one model in one catalogue, named as the manufacturer names it.
- Say whether the range still lists it. Four lifecycle states are used, and a legacy state is never presented as a fault.
- Show only what we hold. The specification fields on the record and no others, with the source each was read from and the date it was checked.
- Name the tools that still take it as an input. Resolved from the tool registry, so a tool that is renamed or withdrawn does not leave a dead link behind.
- Name the published replacement candidates. Projector bodies only, each in its own state with the caveat that travels with it. Loudspeakers and LED cabinets carry no candidate register and the record says so.
- List what must be verified on site. The things a record match cannot stand in for — the label itself, the mount, the drive, the topology.
- Hand it to an engineer. Send a photo of the label and one of the room and we confirm what it is and what it can be replaced with.

What this page can answer for
It reads the same product records the calculators use — 1190 in all, across 3 catalogues:
- 368 projectors from 51 brands, of which 86 are no longer sold new.
- 525 loudspeakers from 32 brands, of which 24 are no longer sold new.
- 297 LED cabinets from 50 brands, of which 8 are no longer sold new.
A record appears here only where it is already offered in the calculator that owns it. That is the same fail-closed rule the calculators apply, not a new one: naming a withheld record as “what you own” would put our name to a specification we have deliberately not published. It has a measurable cost — the projectors catalogue holds 95 withdrawn records and can publish 86.
A legacy product is not a broken product
A lifecycle state describes a catalogue, not a machine. Four states are used, and each says one thing and stops:
- Currently listed
- The manufacturer still lists this model. Nothing here says anything about lead time, regional availability, or what any supplier actually holds in stock.
- Superseded in the range
- The manufacturer has named a later model in its place. That is a catalogue fact about the range, not a judgement about the unit you own.
- No longer sold new
- It is no longer sold new. That is a statement about the catalogue, not about your unit — a projector that still images, or a cabinet that still lights, is doing its job regardless of what the range currently lists.
- Availability not tracked
- This repository does not track a lifecycle state for the record. Silence is not a claim in either direction — treat availability as unconfirmed until it is checked.

What a replacement candidate is, and is not
Same-brand candidates whose recorded throw envelope contains the discontinued body's. Geometry is the only dimension evaluated: electrical, physical, protocol and control are not in any register here, and no row states that a body can be exchanged without work.
The other two catalogues name none, and say so on the record rather than showing an empty panel. No candidate register exists for loudspeakers in this repository. The projector register was built by testing one geometric containment — a candidate's throw envelope containing the legacy body's — and a loudspeaker has no single equivalent dimension: level, dispersion, bandwidth, mounting and the amplifier or line it sits on all move independently, and this catalogue holds no figure that settles them together. Rather than compute a comparison that would mean nothing, this page names none.

The assumptions behind the numbers this tool produces.
- Looks across the projector, loudspeaker and LED-cabinet registers this practice already publishes, and shows only what a record actually holds — a field the manufacturer document does not state is absent here rather than estimated.
- Lifecycle is reported as the register holds it. A discontinued product is not a broken one: it is what an existing owner has, and the specifications, the tools and the documentation stay available for it.
- A replacement candidate carries the envelope state the projection engine computes for it — geometrically compatible pending review, potentially compatible pending review, installation change likely, not compatible with the existing envelope, or data insufficient. None of those is a drop-in claim, and the five are never flattened into one word.

Common mistakes

- Reading a candidate as a drop-in. Mounting patterns, weight, rigging, control protocols and cable runs are in no register here, so no pairing can rise above the geometric state computed for it.
- Assuming a discontinued model must be replaced. Often the useful answer is a spare, a lamp or a lens, not a new unit.

A hotel takes over a banquet floor fitted out eight years ago. There is no handover file: a projector on a ceiling bracket, ceiling loudspeakers on a 100 V line and a small LED wall behind the stage. Somebody photographs three labels. The projector resolves to a body the manufacturer no longer lists, and the register names two same-brand candidates whose recorded throw envelope contains its own — geometry only, with the mount, the weight, the signal path and the control left explicitly unevaluated. The loudspeaker record turns out to carry no transformer tap list, so the load on the line cannot be computed from it at all, and that absence is the finding worth having. The LED cabinet resolves cleanly but names no candidate, because pitch and cabinet size say nothing about the processor already installed. What leaves the page is three identifications and a list of what a site visit has to settle — not a design and not a quotation.

My model is not in your list. What does that mean?
That we have not read its datasheet yet, and nothing more. The catalogues are built model by model from primary sources, and a model that has not been through that process is absent rather than approximated. Use the panel on the left to tell us the brand and the model — it asks for nothing else, no name, no phone number, and an email only if you want the answer sent back — and we will read the source properly and add the record.
You say my projector is discontinued. Should I replace it?
That is not what the state says, and the page will not say it. 'No longer sold new' is a fact about the manufacturer's range. It carries no information about the unit on your ceiling, which may have years left in it. The state matters for a different reason: it tells you what happens when the unit does eventually fail, and it is the moment to find out what the options are — not the moment to act.
Can a replacement candidate simply be put up in place of the old one?
No row on this page says so, and none can. A candidate earns its place by one test only: the throw envelope our records hold for it contains the envelope our records hold for the legacy body. Mounting hole patterns, weight limits, cable runs, control protocols and rigging are in no register here, so no row can rise above that geometric statement — it is the start of a review, not the end of one. Every row carries the state it was computed in and the caveat that travels with it, and both are recomputed from the live records every time the page is read.
Why do loudspeakers and LED cabinets show no candidates at all?
Because there is no honest single test to compute one from. The projector register works because a throw envelope either contains another or it does not. A loudspeaker has no equivalent: level, dispersion, bandwidth, mounting and the amplifier or line it sits on move independently, and this catalogue holds no figure that settles them together. LED cabinets are worse — the processor, the receiving cards and the power and data topology decide a substitution, and we hold none of those. Rather than compute something that would look like an answer, the page names none and says why.
