The BenQ W4000i is a zoom-lens projector, not a fixed-throw model, so it does not demand one precise mounting distance. Its 1.15-1.5:1 throw ratio spans 3.06-3.99 m for a 120-inch 16:9 image — meaning the projector can sit anywhere in that band and still fill the screen correctly, with the zoom ring taking up the slack.

At 3200 lumens with a 4LED light source, the W4000i is built for a room where light can be reasonably controlled — evening viewing, blackout curtains, or a dedicated media room — rather than a bright daytime lounge with open windows.
