Vendors cluster around protocols. The Rako ecosystem is wireless and proprietary, but bridges cleanly to KNX at the room boundary. The Honeywell BMS ecosystem is BACnet-native with Modbus tails for legacy plant. The Trinnov + JBL Synthesis ecosystem is the reference cinema pairing where the processor and the loudspeaker line are engineered for each other. Each ecosystem has its own depth of support, its own firmware track and its own lifecycle assumptions.
Ecosystem selection is a long-term commitment. The right ecosystem for a 30-room hotel may not be the right one for a 500-key resort. The right ecosystem for a residential cinema is not the right one for an auditorium. The decision is shaped by the project's lifecycle horizon, the FM team's capability, the existing vendor relationships and the support footprint in the region. We document the ecosystem decision in the engineering pack with the trade-offs visible, so the client knows what they are committing to and for how long.
